It's 2017! How did last year disappear SO quickly?! I feel like when you're living in a big city time flies so rapidly because the pace of everyone around keeps you in a constant free-fall. I am definitely not the kind of person who sets New Years resolutions, but I do have some things I am trying to incorporate in to my day-to-day life this year. For starters, I want to allow myself to SLOW down - being in a creative industry has motivated me to work hard and push myself, but I want to start taking a day here and there to just RELAX. Last year I found myself getting anxiety on the weekend because I felt like I wasn't being productive and accomplishing something. In 2017 I want to cut myself some slack and make it OK to be a couch potato on a Saturday.
Additionally, I want to make more of an effort to disconnect from the internet more often and spend more time exploring the city, making new friends, catching up with old friends, etc. Don't get me wrong - I LOVE rotating endlessly from Instagram to Facebook to Snapchat & repeating just as much as the next person. But, technology totally shot my social life to oblivion last year and I want to take it back in 2017.
Today, I am spending the day exploring my own neighborhood in the Financial District - as there are so many corners that I have never passed, I am always discovering new gems down town! Right before the holidays I picked up some new pieces from H&M. I always prefer more of a skinny/slim fit and for some reason H&M's trousers always fit me perfectly, If you're looking for a quick, easy, and affordable closet-revamp for 2017 - definitely pop by H&M. This whole look I am wearing is entirely H&M and came in a little over $100!
