Fall has officially made its debut in New York City. It has finally become time to pull out all my favorite sweaters and long coats. While the weather doesn’t quite permit me strolling around in my heaviest winter gear, it has opened me up to some pieces I’ve kept tucked away like this Sacai lace-up hoodie. For those unfamiliar with Sacai, it is a Japanese clothing brand founded in 1999 by young mother Chitose Abe. Following her eight-year career at Comme des Garcons, Abe initially created the brand after becoming tired of the restrictions that came along with mother hood. The label puts out garment creations that elevate the way people dress. By straying from the ordinary and creating pieces that make people feel empowered, Sacai has become the go-to label for people in the industry who want to look polished but don’t feel the need to don a full on power-suit.
The hoodie I have definitely does make me feel like a badass. It also is special to me because it is something that you will rarely see another person wearing. For this look I decided to let the Sacai hoodie be the highlight by pairing it with a simple pair of black Rag & Bone jeans as well as some Balenciaga dress shoes.
